Description

There aren’t that many holiday properties in which, if you like the owner’s choice of décor and accessories, you can buy them to take home! But The Loft is just such a place. The talented owner who renovated this wonderful property (a designer herself) also owns the fabulous interiors & gift shop downstairs – Stuff & Co. It’s the incredible eye for detail that she has brought to both, that make this such a desirable destination. The Loft occupies the top two floors of a converted Grade II listed 16th century building in the heart of historic Midhurst.

Yes there are age-old beams and wonky walls, but there is nothing dowdy or dusty about this beautiful apartment. The open plan dining and sitting area is a minimal yet cosy space, wonderfully accessorised with atmospheric lighting. In the bedroom a super king sized bed offers luxurious Hungarian goose down bedding and pure linen covers. While the roll top bath is the perfect place to recline after a hard day’s exploring. Two beds can be made up downstairs for extra guests.
Midhurst is perfectly placed in the heart of the South Downs National Park, putting Goodwood, Chichester, and the South Downs Way all within easy reach

Midhurst is 15 minutes from Goodwood and 35 minutes from West Wittering’s blue flag beach. There are vineyards in all directions and the historic Petworth is only 10 minutes down the road.

Things to do

‘Food & drink: Foodies will revel in nearby The Horseguard’s Inn local fare, ten minutes down the road in Tillington. Reviews

Beautiful loft in a central location in Midhurst. It has been decorated to an exceptionally high standard while still remaining comfortable and cosy and there are some lovely extra touches that make it feel really special. We tried several of the local pub / restaurant recommendations and they were all great. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a base to explore the South Downs.

Absolutely stunning loft, if you’re thinking of booking, the pictures don’t even do the property justice! Fantastic location in the town, beautifully finished and amazing amenities. We would love to stay here again!

I stayed at The Loft in Midhurst, which was absolutely amazing and has been restored to an incredibly high standard. Zoe and the team made everything super easy and I would definitely recommend Cabins and Castles to anyone looking for a break. No doubt we will be back to book with them again soon.

You will struggle to stay in a finer rental property than this. You enter through the door off this historical street, into a sixteenth/twenty-first century accommodation. The renovation of the property is first class, without losing its history. One can only imagine where & how the oak beams were utilised originally and how they came to be here. Moving on, the owners have left no stone unturned in what a visitor may require during their stay. My wife, daughter and I stayed for two nights and were all blown away. If you want to stay anywhere near this area..try this. Awesome.

West Street Loft is such an amazing space, bags of history and tastefully modernised. Loads of beautiful luxury touches and the comfiest bed and sofa ever! Perfect for a cosy weekend in the country. On the owner’s recommendations we stocked up with lots of local produce from the Cowdray Farm Shop and finished of the weekend with a perfect roast at The Horse Guards Inn on route back to the city. We couldn’t recommended this place enough and will definitely be back!

We had such a lovely stay that we didn’t want to leave! The apartment has so much history and such stunning features. Loved the bath in the bedroom. There was everything we needed on our doorstep, with great access via car to nearby villages and attractions. We had a lovely meal at the Horse Guards Inn and enjoyed the great views at The Welldiggers Arms. We enjoyed a morning walk (about 20mins) to the farm shop cafe for breakfast. We had a great stay and hope to return soon!

Beautiful, clean, stylish – thoughtful touches such as fresh milk and chilled Prosecco in the fridge! Well worth a visit!
